In June 2026, CLE faculty and students joined the “Crossing Mountains, Crossing Seas, Mutual Learning, Mutual Progressing” Culture Study Camp at Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL). Supported by the Ministry of Education, the week-long programme brought together nearly 200 participants, including educators and students from universities in the United States, Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland China.

The opening ceremony on 1 June formally launched this vibrant exchange, attended by representatives from local government, DUFL leadership, and international partner institutions.

Throughout the programme, participants engaged in immersive cultural and academic activities designed to promote cross-cultural dialogue and deepen mutual understanding. The camp created valuable opportunities for young people from different regions to connect, collaborate, and build lasting friendships.

A key highlight of the visit was a thematic roundtable titled “Language Studies in the Era of Large Language Models: Technological Tools, Ethical Boundaries, and Humanistic Commitment.” Scholars explored how emerging technologies are reshaping language education while reaffirming the importance of humanistic values in teaching and research.

In addition, CLE representatives delivered six specialist lectures to DUFL students and staff, sharing expertise in language education and communication. The sessions were met with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, reflecting the strong interest in collaborative learning and innovation.

This exchange underscores CLE’s ongoing commitment to internationalisation, interdisciplinary dialogue, and preparing students to communicate effectively in a rapidly changing global landscape.
