The School of Humanities and Social Science calls for nomination to school faculty on program application at the National Humanities Center (NHC), North Carolina.
The NHC is a private, nonprofit organization, and the only independent institute dedicated exclusively to advanced study in all areas of the humanities. Conceived with the needs of humanists in mind, the NHC provides scholars with an environment and resources conducive to generating new knowledge and understanding of the human experience.
The NHC Residential Fellowship is one of the most prestigious humanities fellowship programs in the world. Fellows enjoy a beautiful and serene space to write, unparalleled library and reference support, excellent dining services, and a stimulating and supportive intellectual community. Researchers are especially encouraged to apply when they expect to be able to benefit from and contribute actively to an in-person community of other humanities researchers.
Successful candidates may apply for one full academic year or one semester residential fellowship. The call for application typically opens in June / July.
All the past fellows and projects are listed at website for reference. SHSS faculty will receive relevant information to submit application in due course. To learn more about the program, please visit the following webpages:
