A record year for SHSS: six faculty members named in the 2026 Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List
We are proud to share that six professors from the School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS) at HKUST have been recognized in the 2026 Stanford/Elsevier World’s Top 2% Most-cited Scientists List:

This remarkable achievement reflects the exceptional scholarly contributions, sustained research excellence and global influence of our faculty.
The Stanford/Elsevier list identifies leading researchers worldwide using composite citation indicators, including total citations, citations to single-authored publications and the H-index. It spans 22 subject fields and 174 sub-fields, and comprises two lists: one recognising career-long citation impact and the other recognising single-year research impact.
