Prof. Daisy Du Presents Lifetime Achievement Award to Shanghai Animation Film Studio

Prof. Daisy Yan Du recently honored the Shanghai Animation Film Studio with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Red Lotus Asian Film Festival Vienna 2025. Celebrating the studio’s 80-year legacy, Prof. Du highlighted its pivotal role in defining the Chinese School of Animation through classics like Uproar in Heaven (1961) and The Herd Boy’s Flute (1963), which fused traditional ink-painting aesthetics with cinematic storytelling.

The studio continues to innovate in the digital era, blending ethnic folklore with cutting-edge techniques in recent works like A Story About Fire (2025).
