The French Centre for Research on Contemporary China (CEFC) is a publicly research centre supported by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and French National Centre for Scientific Research. It is part of a network of the 27 French centres around the world (in Asia other research centres are Tokyo, New Delhi, Pondicherry, and Bangkok.) First established in 1991, the Centre is based in Hong Kong, with branches in Taipei since 1994 and in Beijing since 2014.
The CEFC's mission is to study various aspects on political, economic, social, and cultural developments in contemporary China. The Centre offers a dynamic platform for French and European researchers to collaborate with social science professionals from Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan-based scientific institutions.
