A maximum total of 6 credits completed successfully outside HKUST can be transferred to the minor program. If the course (you took at high school) is assessed and mapped onto SOSC1960, it can be used to fulfil the required course requirement.

No. Courses taken to fulfill the required course(s) requirement cannot be counted towards the elective(s) requirement.

Yes, SOSC 1990 is a compulsory course for PBS and it cannot be substituted by any other courses.

No. Only the courses listed on the PBS course list can be used to fulfill the requirements of the minor program.

Students must declare their intention to enroll in the program during the application period conducted in June every year no later than the commencement of their final year of study. A current Year 3 student can complete the declaration procedure in June 2020. Time management is important in ensuring your fulfillment of the program’s requirements.

We reference the CGA at the point you submit your application. For the coming round of application (June 2020), we will reference your CGA after you complete your study in Spring 2020.
