Program Director Cameron Campbell recently launched an online course Social Science Approaches to the Study of Chinese Society that introduces social science, provides an overview of the major topics and issues that social scientists investigate, explains the relationship of theory and evidence in social science, clarifies the distinctions between the major social science disciplines, and discusses challenges that social scientists face as they try to draw conclusions from patterns observed in data. He also explains how social scientists overcome these challenges. The course is intended for a non-expert audience, and is ideal for a student who seek an overview of what social science is, and what social scientists do.
